Tom Daggett, President

Hutchinson Manufacturing started the year I was born so you might say I was born into the business.  By age 12, I was hanging around the “shop” doing things my dad came up with to keep me busy.  By age 16, that had changed, to where I could run many of the processes in the plant from shearing, saw, press brake and weld.  Following high school, a degree from the University of Minnesota and a short stint in other employment, I came back to work in the family business.

I live outside of Hutchinson with my wife Barbara and two teen-age children.  Hutchinson has been good to us and in return my community involvement has been a focus having been Chairman of the Hutchinson Area Health Care Board, Chairman of the ISD #425 Hutchinson School District, plus serving on numerous task forces for local and regional development.

Outside interests include X-Country and downhill skiing, biking, sailing and fishing.

Michael J Dickerman, Vice President Sales and Marketing

Mike is a University of Wisconsin Stout graduate in Industrial Technology, with 20 plus years of experience in metal working, machine tools, production, engineering, quality and sales. 

Mike came to Hutchinson Manufacturing in 2004 as our V.P. of Sales and Marketing from the automotive industry to help HMI refocus its sales and marketing plan.  He oversees our internal customer service, estimating and external sales force.

Kathy Silvernale, Controller

Kathy grew up in Hutchinson; graduated from Hutchinson High School; graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Business Administration degree.  She is married and has three sons and two grandchildren.  When not working, Kathy enjoys golfing, riding motorcycle, shopping, walking and traveling.

Kathy joined HMI in 1985.  As Controller, she oversees all financial areas within the company.  She has many other responsibilities including office and mainframe system administration.

Kathy participated in the Blandin Community Leadership Program, is a past Rotary member, and was an active member of the committee for planning and building Hutchinson’s Hospice House.  Presently, she is a member of the Hutchinson Area United Way Board.  Also, she is a charter member of a group that is actively fundraising for various causes and needs of the community.  

John Reynolds, Vice President of Operations

John was born and raised in Hutchinson.  After graduating from Hutchinson High School, he went on to earn a degree in Mathematics from St. John’s University in St. Joseph, Minnesota. He also served 4 years in the United States Army, leaving the service with the rank of captain.

John came to work at Hutchinson Manufacturing in 2005, where his eight years of prior operational leadership experience were put to good use.

John is married and has three daughters.  In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and carpentry. 

Scott Bandas, Quality Manager

Scott grew up in Glencoe, Minnesota, a town about 20 miles from Hutchinson Manufacturing’s campus.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.  

Scott has been with Hutchinson Manufacturing for over 5 years.  In that time, he has lead many new quality initiatives.   Under his direction we have taken HMI into ISO 9001 compliance.  In turn, this has advanced our quality system to a level never before seen at Hutchinson Manufacturing.
